Magus, a popular magician takes a break during one of his many performances using real magic, but gets ambushed by a gang only looking for money. They proceed to shoot him in the face so many times that there is an entire gaping hole left in it. With the little bit of magic he had left, he put all his life force into his hat and fused it together with his body, adding a pair of eyes. He soon would get up and try to go into a store for glasses due to his poor vision with eyes made of 1% of his magic. He didn't realize he wandered into an abandoned Costco, in which the gang was using as a secret base of operations. Stuck, he decides on the only thing he could do, and that he wanted to do. As the author, I would suggest the following. 1. Read "Philosopher's Stone" (this book) till before the chapter titled "THE JOURNEY FROM PLATFORM NINE AND THREE QUARTERS" 2. Skip the rest. It is merely a telling of what you have already read in canon, just from a different perspective. 3. Move to "The Chamber of Secrets" and start with the chapter titled "TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE." All the chapters before that are, once again, events you would already be familiar with. 4. Finish book 2 and move on to book 3. There on after, you can read normally. This isn't compulsory. It is simply, in my opinion, the best way to enjoy the series. Since I understand that some portions of the first two books are not very different from canon and thus, can seen boring.
