When Will Gardener finds a pale, injured girl, named Luus down a dark alleyway he decides to help. But he finds himself dragged into a world of Mortimers and Vampyres and worse.

Her palms were slick with sweat, her heavy breaths echoed through the dark alley way, her muscles with only one instruction, run. They screamed at her to stop, but she continued. She had long run out of energy to shift back into her wolf form but when she peered through the chocking blackness of the night she saw the moon, it's white light shrouded in grey clouds. She sighed. A dead end, grey bricks, no choice but to face them, fifteen she counted.
A sickening crunch resounded through the cold night air, she could just make out the thin, withered face of the hooded Mortimer as it grabbed her and snapped her arm.
