"You may not think I care, but I do." I couldn't even process his words, all I could see were his eyes and the emotion that was running through them. I hated that emotion and I hated that it was all pointed at me. 
I wanted to get rid of it, I wanted to not look at it, so I did the only thing that I could think of to both stop him from pitying me and to take my mind off everything that had gone wrong.
