Well in this book there's a family they seem all happy go lucky at first but there's something not quite right as with one of them near the beginning suffers from mental conditions and it doesn't turn out the best for the family, the character doesn't want to be put into the mental hospital and be basically taken away from their family so they take matters into their own hands, after this event the family tries to get back to their normal state but as teenagers do they don't make that so easy and it all goes down hill after the daughter goes out with a few friends to celebrate her birthday. Well I won't say much more but it basically gets better then gets a hell of a lot worse if I say any more it'll ruin the story :). The family consists of: The Mum - Angela Crowther, the Dad - Barry Crowther, the Son - Ash Crowther, and the Daughter - Caelan Crowther, there is also the Daughter's 2 friends: - Friend 1 - Ellie Woodbead, Friend 2 - Gray Ingham.

When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room. Slowly the two begin to fall in love and Mariah tells him her story, and of the hidden danger that lies up the street from him.
