The Wattpad companion to the popular Teen Writers Publish! podcast, available on iTunes or Stitcher Radio. You can also listen at the TeenWritersPublish.com website.

I started this podcast because I have one regret in my life: I gave up being a writer while I was still a teen. That was a long time ago. How long? Let's just say that I remember when Pac Man was a cool new game. But I still regret giving up on my dream. I can't go back in time and fix that, though I can start again now (and I am). I can, however, prevent some of you from making that same mistake.

You can be a writer. You can make a living doing what you love. In fact, if you do anything other than follow your passion, you are less likely to be successful. That's the premise of the Teen Writers Publish! podcast. I'll use these pages to pass on to you what we discuss on the show, some of our own writing tips, and just a great story about my writer's journey. Oh, and Gina's. You'll meet both of us on the podcast.

And please leave your feedback after each show. We post a new show every Tuesday.

Does your story & writing shine as far as: ★ - Concept ★ - Voice ★ - Storytelling The Standouts is a fun, but hopefully helpful contest that can give you a sense of whether your story resonates with someone who's got some experience under her belt. Great! But who are you to judge? Fair question. This is not to humble-brag, but I've been critiquing and have worked with story development for quite some time, and I've picked up a lot along the way. ☙ - As an Ambassador, I work on content projects. ☙ - If you look at my profile, you'll see everything I've published so far has managed to standout in one way or another, whether by leading me to become a Wattpad Star; or by winning a Watty (twice!); or by being picked as a Top 10 in major Wattpad contests (twice!); or being featured. All I'm saying is I'm no slouch. I'm not brilliant either. But I've got some experience around what can catch an agent, editor, or judge's eye, and I'd like to share that with the community. ☙ - In another lifetime, I used to work for HBO in Development and at ICM (the talent agency) in their writers' department which means I understand how professionals quickly gauge whether or not they'll take a closer look at a work and/or make an offer. This kind of insight can be helpful if you're planning to submit your work or even just want to stand out more here on Wattpad. ☙ - I used to provide critiques for three writers, all of them traditionally published. They seemed to value my insight. Read the RULES, LOGISTICS & PRIZES chapter for guidelines. All entries get a brief assessment of their first chapter, with winners getting more extensive critiques. Love Shouldn't Hurt (My Personal Experience With Emotional Abuse) by Aria_Cosmic
10 parts Complete Mature
Change to disclaimer: I censored their name because they were getting death threats. THIS BOOK IS COMPLETE In my younger years, I accepted toxic manipulation and emotional abuse as normal and a sign of love. I've dealt with lying and manipulation all my life but never classified it as wrong since it all came from someone I loved: my father. I never fought back because I was raised to put trust in him because we were kin. A decade later, I come across Wattpad with a warm and loving community, and through mutual friends meet THEM. We then start dating on and off and then finally break up. Before we do break-up, they made me vow to never tell anyone what I had gone through and discovered about them. I said yes without hesitation because I was still madly in love with them and stupidly loyal; but as two years pass I realize I promised to not tell anyone about their true self so they could continue to do what they did to me and to silence me because they knew I still had feelings for them and was formidably loyal. I became damage control so they could continuously drag in new weak-minded people like me and make them go through the same pain and groom them to shower them with attention every second of the day and when they didn't; they made them feel as if they were wrong. They made their lovers feel like they were the bad guy and insignificant at the same time. In Present day, this still haunts me to the point I only get a few hours of sleep. My ex isn't here now and I feel I must share not only as a way to warn readers of people like them and how his definition of love is actually far from the truth, but as way of closure for myself.
Trying Not To Love (COMPLETED) by Books_and_nerds

I stepped forward and asked, "Where do you want me?" It took me a second to realize what I just said. Shit! I placed a hand on my crimson face and muttered, "Get your head out of the gutter! You know what I meant." He laughed, his voice sounded hoarse and deep even when he's laughing. I peeked at him from the gap I made between my fingers. He was close. So close. He grabbed my hand and took me to the bed. Damn! It did sound sexy. His shirt was loose. Too large for me, and it hung on me like a cloth hung on a hanger. He sat on the bed, criss crossed and pulled me to him. ♡♡♡♡♡ The thing about love is... its unpredictable. Even when you don't want love, it just happens. Cassandra is your typical anti-social tomboy where Easton is your black leather jacket high school bad boy. Cassandra and her siblings arrive at Brinkley mansion hoping the year to get by quickly so they can be back with their dad. But then they meet Easton who has a different plan for them. The to-be sole heir of Brinkley Inc., rude, party lover, filled with nothing but rage for the invaders in his house, becomes determined to bring the truth out to world about his father by making the lives of Cassandra and her siblings living hell. Cassandra is not supposed to fall in love with someone like Easton who not only doesn't want her here but also isn't even available. Join these two teens in their journey to find what's right kind of love, or is there even a righteousness to love? ☆ Copyright 2020 @Books_and_nerds (DestinyK.)
