Raven Stonewall a girl they call "Shadow" just turned 17 and doesn't know how to handle her malevolent family. As if going through life isn't hard enough at this age she is confined to her room swallowed by her own shadow "alone". Until, a guy named James Greene moves in next door around his 18th birthday where they meet at a friendly birthday barbeque. Ever since then she had a good view of him, they had windows right in front of each other. One stormy night they run into each other walking home, and James invites Shadow in and her life suddenly changes.
