This isn't a story, this isn't a work of fiction; this is real. Dear Freshman Me is a project that I've been working on in my head for years. It's a primarily clustered and unorganized list of things and stories I wished I'd known when I was a freshmen in high school; things I wish I could go back in time to tell myself. But, since it's not possible to do that, I thought I'd publish them here so that you can either 1) consider taking them to heart if you are- in fact- a freshmen, or 2) read them for the fun of it and laugh at my stupidity. Either option works. Trust me, I laugh at myself a lot while writing these.

Life is full of surprises! Especially in high school, where love can come from unexpected places... This is my story (well, part of it, anyway). It's a story about growing up in a small town, about the friends I made and the friends I lost, and the events (both legal and illegal) that shaped me into the person I am today. This is a true story; naturally, some parts have been embellished, had names altered to protect the "innocent," and some incidents have otherwise been fabricated entirely. Also, I confess that I may have misremembered some of it.
