The Infected Mind
[Book 1] Crawlers: once normal people like you or me. They had hobbies, families, friends, interests, but now they are feral monsters. The infection spread, wiping out almost half the human race, and leaving the rest as either Crawlers or Survivors. The infected's eyes will black out, before giant, black, bug-like legs will rip out of their back, giving them a newfound speed and agility, as well as an insatiable bloodlust. Body fluids entering any open wound, including the eyes, mouth, and nose, will seal the person's fate; they are now infected. It won't be long before they start screeching at the moon in a mock howl. The problem is, I am infected. I turned but retained most of my humanity. With my new lifestyle in a new world, I can't expect anything or anyone to act as I predict. When you are infected with the virus, there are four stages. 1) Your fever will shoot up and everything will become intensified on a maximum level. It's been seven months since the pandemic hit with this virus and the world has been ravaged and left to ruins. Society has crumbled to nothing and more than three fourths of the population have been infected with the mysterious virus that took the world by storm. The virus has turned anyone infected into crazed flesh-eating freaks, with decrepit skin and red puffy eyes. The only way to kill them is by obliterating the brain. F*** Cancer, This One Did Us All In.
There's not a lot that can freak me out in this world. Only large animals with sharp claws, too many people touching me, bullies, hives, horror movies, sitting underneath fans or lights or anything that dangles from a ceiling, glass or wooden bridges, my mother, mosquitoes, public situations, taking a shower with nobody in the house, taking a shower with too many people in the house and crocks. Oh, and zombies. Zombies is definitely on that list. It's almost a shame too, that I have to race through a city packed full of them to find my missing family. Packed full of zombies, by the way, not crocks. (Although I don't know which situation is worse.) Now I have to not only keep my feeble body alive, but also protect (or be protected by) my two best friends in the entire world as we all try to survive in a city packed with the Dead.Complete

It's completely original and I had had hopes to publish a few hardcover copies, but I have long since moved on from the idea and begun to work on other things. The Virus Within (Original rough draft)
Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. In the blink of an eye, things change. An ominous message is sent out to all of those below the age of sixteen, providing precise instructions that suggest they flee. Simultaneously, a deadly virus starts to spread all about the world, attacking only the Altered -- every human over the age of sixteen. The virus eats at the modified human brain, and soon the Unaltered begin to realise that the Altered are losing their minds. Home is no longer safe. Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are. I see you're awake finally. Let me explain, I'm the overseer, and my name is Hayley, I will guide you on your journey through this time era. Your name is Lexi, you needn't know you second name as it is useless now. That girl you are staring at is you, and you don't know anything because I made sure of that." The voice of which belongs to the person known as Hayley, booms through the room with a posh accent but audibly angry... Why was she angry with me? "As of now people are dying evidently people become depressed and aggressive to one and other. They all used to live in harmony and happiness, that was until the 'things started to raise. The 'things' are as you would call it zombies but of greater skill. They disguise themselves as humans yet they will not hesitate to kill you and eat you. If someone is a 'thing', automatically presume them dead, or at least soon to be dead. It will always take about 2 weeks to become fully changed, hopefully you can chop of that body part in time for the infection to stop. If you can't, put an end to your soon to be painful and horrible turn/death. These beings as I announced only a moment ago, look exactly like a human, two way to tell if they are one or not, their attitude and their eyes. They don't have emotions, only hunger and let me tell you, they will go out of their way to eat you, they will speak but it will sound different... Deformed almost. The eyes are usually the first to become infected, they become slightly red at first, as time progresses so does the intensity of the color red in the eye. The color in their eyes they once possessed, will seem dull, it will seem as if they are unfocused or unfamiliar with their surroundings. That is all I can tell you for the moment Lexi, but know their are people waiting for your arrival, and we are waiting for you to end this suffering race."
