NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.

A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.

Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.

Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.

Step into the high-stakes game played by today's technology innovators, who push the envelope and risk it all. Get ready, this thrilling book gives you a taste of what startups are really like. _____________________________________________________ David Alexander, a young programmer in Portland, Oregon, loathed his job. Computer programming had always come naturally, but being an employee never suited him. So he tried entrepreneurship instead. After making a series of embarrassing blunders, David finally hit on a startup idea that stuck: encrypted chat. Sure there were alternatives, but as Edward Snowden has shown us, most of them (willingly or unwillingly) have backdoors for spies and bad guys. A new approach made David's app one of the most secure options out there, which caught the attention of many people, including Shawn Douglas from the Secret Service. Shawn Douglas worked with eight different presidents, preventing twenty assassination attempts, forty-three terrorist plots and two bullets. When he was promoted to a desk job overseeing and organizing travel, he picked up on a cryptic email thread that hinted at a threat to the President's life. In a race to unravel the conspiracy, Shawn and David both have to make some difficult decisions. Will Shawn stop the terrorists in time? Will David be able to navigate his startup out of a crisis and keep his entrepreneurial dream alive? Or will fate deal them both a crushing hand? Read the book to find out.

Wars are not something out of the ordinary, are they? We hear about them every day. But for the people that live them, it is more than a punishment from the gods. It is a never-ending agony which the victims have to fight in order to survive. They fight to honour the fallen ones, to protect what they cherish the most, to make their stories heard. They fight for their glory which was lost alongside the people they once knew. They fight for a better future, one without conflicts, one with the freedom they wish to have. But even so, they try to live simple lives in the end, no matter what happens in the meantime. "But can you truly call it living if you cannot sense your freedom, if you cannot wander the streets of your own city without the fear of one day being discovered and killed because of the way you are born? Because of your gift from the gods? Maybe... But it is for us to see what future planned for its people." The first part of the story "Glory in War" focuses on getting to know the world of a corrupted society, in which one race is put to hide in the shadows in order to survive from those that want them dead. We are introduced to a former student of an underground school, N04H, who decides to enter the military forces that protect the convicted race's freedom as a sign of gratitude for their guardians. By doing so, even if the story does not focus on him in particularly, he takes part into making their fate come true, opening the path of a new beginning. As for what there is to come, let's say the gods have already written their story.

In the near future, most work has been relegated to machines and people are content to spend their time immersed in virtual reality, something they cannot get enough of. Thomas Walker, an ex-racecar driver who blames the hidden algorithms that run society for losing everything that is important to him, finds himself at the center of a string of bizarre vehicular attacks and becomes assured that someone is out to get him. Meanwhile, Lucas Bennett, an anxiety-ridden software engineer, is contracted by the leading artificial intelligence corporation in the US to decipher the inner workings of their flagship AI that have become incomprehensible even to themselves, a job that he is very invested in since he considers technology the solution to his personal as well as mankind's timeless problems. Unknown to the public at large, the CEO of the company is bent on unleashing the full capabilities of that AI to handle every single aspect of society and individual lives. When all hell breaks loose, the two men and those close to them team up to survive and fight back against the horde of vehicular attackers and the Intelligence behind them while also clashing together over their views: is artificial intelligence a way to humanity's salvation or doom? With those come betrayal, loss and even a bit of unintentional love. ~~~ This is a work of FAN-fiction, therefore I don't own everything in this story. Terra, the rebels, some ships, Colis and other minor characters are from my mind. There are also some locations, unless specified, that belong to me. Reyes and any parts of the story having to do with the game's original campaign rightfully belong to the creators of Call of Duty games. I only intend to satisfy the needs of fans and readers! :) WARNING: There will be strong language, gore-filled parts and SOME minor sexual talk/activity. Prepare yourselves if you intend to read anyways. ~Began writing July 18, 2017~ -Finished August 12, 2018-

She hunts daily, but sometimes even that isn't enough. And the new year, she never imagined for it to be like this. She has to participate in the 'Games' well at least that's what the Capital calls it. Everyone else calles it indesisive torture. Ever since Nova's father almost died in the mine bombing when she was 11 he has been in a wheel chair, he lost his leg, and seriously injured his arm, he has burns across his chest, back, and legs. Since then Nova's been the one getting the food from hunting. She along with the rest of her family have never felt full so when she volunteers for her younger sister everything changes. She finds love she never knew she could have, she finally knows just how cruel everyone in the Capital is. And all of these 'Games' happened because of consequences by rebelling 74 years ago. I own most of this book. But some of it like the games, the cities and such I don't own they are owned by The Hunger Games makers and anything else that DIRECTLY quotes or something from the Hunger Games I don't own. Please don't cop my work or such. And if you have any questions on this comment or DM me.
