Based on the events of the game Zombies, Run!
Leila was assisting in the delivery of some crucial supplies to Abel Township when her chopper was shot down by some loon with a rocket launcher. You think humans would stick together during the zombocalypse, but apparently that wasn't the case.
Leila's got a mission, a one word mission:
Run.

To Be A Rebel
Book 5 in the To Be A Runner series. I suggest you read the other four (and short story) before reading this one to avoid confusion. An evil government leader, a terrible life on the run, immune babies, and no home. Yep, that sounds about right. It's been a month since Sigrid took over Abel, and I, along with Sam, Janine and Maxine have been trying to find a way to take it back, to win back our home and stop the Minister. We still don't know why she started all of this, why she engineered the apocalypse to happen, but we will find out all her secrets, sooner or later, with the help of some new friends, and old ones. But I've got a lot of things to worry about-the voices in my head and what I've seen, and if I can keep up an act. Because if I can't... It's time for me to take a stand. We are the rebellion. To Be A Killer
Book 3 in the in To Be A Runner series. If you have not read books 1 and 2, I seriously suggest you do that before continuing or you will be really confused. Missing friends, a new enemy, a secretive company, and many new discoveries. Yep, that sounds about right. It's been four months since some of the Abel residents left our walls, and in our search, we've been fruitless. Until now. With the help of a new friend, we discover more about Diana and Comansys, and what's happened to our people. That's the main priority-finding our friends, finding Maxine, finding Caleb. Turns out there's a lot more about the apocalypse and how it started. There's more than we could have ever imagined. Each new clue leads to another story-another piece of the puzzle. I can only hope we figure it out before it's too late. Because there are bad people out there, and sometimes we have to play by their rules instead of our own. And I'm merely a pawn in this game of chess-a pawn that every player of the game wants to either kill or own. New friends, old friends, new discoveries, and pain. So much pain. And yet... so much joy. So much joy doing the things I never thought I'd do... And I can't help but hate myself for feeling so good about doing such horrible things. To Be A Leader
Book 6 in the To Be A Runner series A missing general, hired assassins, a crazed Prime Minister, a voice in my head, and two sides on the verge of war. Yep, that sounds about right. It's been nine months since we took Abel back, nine months since us and the Minister arranged a 'peace treaty', as she likes to call it. We know the truth, but we've been marked as criminals, and that means very few people actually believe us. But even though Sigrid cannot get into Abel's underground labs, she's proven that she has not been defeated. She's looking for something-someone, actually. A person with the disease called Moonchild Syndrome, because it seems that I'm not the only person who's had Moonchild come and stay after breaking free from the mind control. And that's one of the many things I have to worry about. The 'original' still comes to me in dreams, and I know the Glass Protocol is still out there, looking for me, and I know that every step I take could be the last. Every decision I make will effect the people I care about, so I have to step up. I'm many things, or really, I've been called many things-a runner, a hero, a monster, a traitor, a survivor, a killer, a rebel... To Be A Warrior
Book 7 in the To Be A Runner series New allies, V-Type zombies, rising anarchists, and a country that can't seem to find stable ground. Yep, that seems about right. It's been six weeks since Sigrid was taken down, and in those times, things have gone to chaos. A power vacuum has been created, and people are desperate to find a way to keep everything from falling apart. The cure has been created, but V-Types, the unkillable zombies, still pose a threat. We aren't even sure if the cure works on them. Unfortunately, they aren't even our worse problems. The Last Riders, a chaotic group that for a long while did nothing but cause petty chaos and take lives whenever they could, have suddenly turned darker. They did terrible things before, but with the country split and the late leader being reveled as the monster she was, they've decided there's nothing left to live for. They're determined to take us all down. That's where I come in. As I put more effort in finding a cure for my immortality, as well as keeping my children safe and happy (one child in particular), I also must work remember put the most important things first-which is getting through this second wave of the apocalypse. It's a good thing we have Colonel Sage and... Veronica to help us. The question is though, can Abel really trust them? It seems we don't have much choice in the matter, but I've learned to keep an eye on everyone. And I believe I need to look back at the Vikings, learn from them and what we have from the Edda to figure out how to stop these V-Type zombies. It's time to be a warrior. My best friend was most likely one. I ran from her. My parents were one. I shot them. This really cute guy was one, I nearly shot him before he came running and screaming at me like a stupid idiot. This really cute guy wasn't one. After witnessing her dead teacher come back to life, Leo decides to go on the run. Armed with a backpack full of essentials (does portable chargers count?) and her Dad's rifle, she learns to survive with the help of new friends. A secret unknown mission, a shot down helicopter, a guilt-ridden heart, and no name. Yep, that sounds just about right. I came to Abel Township for one reason only, but after the unfortunate event of my helicopter being shot down by a rocket launcher of all things, I'm apparently going to be staying here a lot longer than planned. Because of it, I'm going to have to play nice in order to survive, which is a lot harder than it seems. Everyone carries a burden with them, me included. I'm a runner, and until I leave this pathetic little settlement I'm going to do my job, and run. But one of the things I'm learning it that nothing is ever as it seems. Each piece of the puzzle brings another question, another addition to the story shrouded in mystery and dripping with sinister intent. Maybe this settlement is as pathetic as I thought it was. Maybe my helicopter was shot down for a reason. I cannot wait around for an answer. I learned that long ago. Now deemed Runner Five, I have decided I will do what I have to do to find out every mystery here in Abel Township. And I'm going to start with my actual mission. What is Project Greenshoot...
