My love and you

I have no handle on time now that I have known you.

The other day I watched three hours go by, watched my skin dry under rain, watched my heart grow three sizes and now I can’t believe that after all these years of breathing and blinking and loving and sleeping I have lost more time than I have gained.

They say every time you remember a moment, you distort it a little and I can’t help but mourn the fact that I don’t fucking know where the twenty-seventh frame of your smile went- that smile you get when
you know something, I don’t- I don’t know where it went, and while I’m looking for it in the recesses of my skull, I’m losing more and more and more and maybe if I let the minute hand carry me down the road further away, it’ll come back to you.

Maybe if I impale myself on the pointy four on the clock in my bedroom, it’ll come back to you. Maybe if I’m eaten alive by all this clockwork inside of me, it’ll come back to you.
