Aika Perish, a half Japanese- half American teenage girl has a gift. The fifteen year old heiress is a musical prodigy with the ability to alter her listeners' emotions with the stories she creates on the piano. To the outsider, she had everything one could ever want, extraordinary talent, an immense amount of wealth, and attention from the most prestigious schools across the country. But none of that matters to Aika. All she craves for is a friend to help her escape her monotonous life. She wants what normal teenage girls have. In comes the Portland sisters. Charlotte, aka Charlie, is the first to help Aika see what a normal life can be like. The 5'2 blonde becomes the first friend the prodigy ever had within days of meeting. Her older sister, Cade, is another story. While Charlie is built of sunrises, Cade consists of storm clouds. The sisters draw Aika into a whirlwind of everything life has to offer. Aika's days are soon filled more than her beloved pianos, sketchbooks and parades of her parents' parties. Each sister shows Aika a new meaning of life. And one sister reveals more about Aika than she'd ever known about herself, including her capacity to love.
