In a quiet ironstone village in the heart of rural England, the lives of two school friends, Peter and Flick, are simultaneously disrupted when they discover their village, the lives they had been living and the people they know, have all been part of an elaborate conspiracy created to protect them both from a world and a destiny neither is aware of nor is prepared for.
Peter and Flick are unwittingly thrown together on an exciting and often moving journey that takes them from their quiet and uncomplicated lives into a hidden world lost in time and which holds many dark secrets, including those of their own fate.
