For ages, vampires and werewolves have been engaged in war. Vampires want to herd humans like cattle and eventually rule across the world, living their lives the way the wish without hunting for survival. However, there's one problem with their plan. The phrase, "a dog is mans' best friend" is more accurate than they realize. Werewolves are tasked with protecting humanity, eradicating any vampire that dares to cause harm. They are humans protectors, even if the humans don't realize it. For years and years, The Gravecrest Pack has been in charge of protecting the students and staff of a high school in a small town. They were to protect everyone from their first day in the building until they graduated. And all was fine, until now. Raven Pierce, a now junior, had always been efficient in her job. She had always taken her job seriously despite being mistreated at school for looking different. But lately she's had a wrench thrown in her plans. A handsome, vampiric wrench. Indirectly or not, she has been slacking on her duties and even going as far as to protect this particular vampire. How will this affect her role in her pack? What will her fellow members think? Will she regret these actions? Only time will tell.

Meridian has dedicated her life to the growth of her pack. When her mate mysteriously shows up in her life, things begin to seem perfect. That is, until unknown enemies threaten the stability of the pack she's worked so hard to build. Will she lose everything, or will her love truly be able to conquer all? "It's crazy, but I saw a wolf in the woods yesterday, and something told me I should follow it. I could, um, smell honey and coconut, and I followed that smell here. You probably think I'm insane," he mumbles, smiling sadly, "and you have guests, so I'll leave now." He must not be a wolf, because we can associate certain scents with friends and loved ones, and he seemed confused by the idea. But I can't deny the sparks we felt when we touched earlier, and before I can help it I'm calling to him. "Wait, please, come inside! I'm Meridian," I smile, holding out my hand. He smiles, saying, "I'm Malachi, nice to meet you," before shaking my hand, making goosebumps spread across my skin at the contact. Clearing my throat as I blush, I step aside and let him enter my home. If he's a human, this is the dumbest thing I've ever done."
