The zombie apocalypse seems like fun and games such as killing everyone you don't like right? Wrong. Just imagine seeing everyone you know and love be killed right in front of your eyes, leaving you to fend for yourself. The world is in turmoil. A top secret military mission to develop technology to make people almost indestructible, took an unspeakable turn for the worst... There turned out to be certain-"side effects" as you may say. Those who were originally test subjects for the technology became mindless savages. We don't know how to stop it, but most of all; Who knows who will make it?

When you are infected with the virus, there are four stages. 1) Your fever will shoot up and everything will become intensified on a maximum level. You'll lose grip on what's reality and what's illusion. 2) You'll start to slowly fall down the rabbit hole, forgetting the past and everything and everyone that you knew. 3) You face your imminent death. 4) You wake up with a pressing hunger for the living. It's been seven months since the pandemic hit with this virus and the world has been ravaged and left to ruins. Society has crumbled to nothing and more than three fourths of the population have been infected with the mysterious virus that took the world by storm. The virus has turned anyone infected into crazed flesh-eating freaks, with decrepit skin and red puffy eyes. The only way to kill them is by obliterating the brain. Elise Alice Gordon, Lease for short, led a simple life until the virus hit. Seven months later she is just barely scraping by. She's done what she's had to do to survive, and in that process she has created demons that haunt her every time she closes her eyes. See, it hasn't been easy trying to live in a dead world. She's lost friends, family, and everything she's ever known. The only thing she hasn't lost is her humanity and her hope. But she's afraid she's starting to. Because in this new world, there's only her, the dead, and the restless. © 2012 by Ashtyn Mane. All rights reserved.

Darkness has a way of creeping in when least expected. It does not announce itself with a whisper, nor does it wait for an invitation. It engulfs, devours, and tests the limits of those caught in its grasp. This is a story of survival-not just of the body, but of the mind, the spirit, and the unbreakable bonds that tether us to one another. When the world crumbles, when the familiar turns into the unknown, the question is not just how to endure-but who we become in the process. There are horrors lurking in the shadows, dangers waiting beyond every turn. But in the heart of it all, there is something even more powerful: the will to fight, to protect, and to defy the inevitable. This book is born from such a place-a world stitched together from whispers of dreams, echoes of forgotten tales, and the unshakable pull of curiosity. It is an invitation to step beyond the ordinary, to embrace the strange and the wondrous, and to find, perhaps, a reflection of yourself in the pages that follow. As you turn each page, let go of expectation. Surrender to the unknown. And most of all, enjoy the journey. Welcome to this story. Welcome to the adventure. Step forward, if you dare. The journey begins now
