A holocaust survivor tells her story in the eyes of her 13 year-old self. Scarlett Bascher and her family are one of the many who have faced the terrifying World War II. When the Nazis took her home, she was scared. When her father betrayed her, she was angry. Not only does this story show the separation of families and communities but also the gathering of hopeful strangers who spend each hour of defiance together.
