I never thought I would be here. Staring at the massive contraptions in front of me, with bustling engineers and astronomers, running around shouting orders. I never thought I would go to space, land on a planet and explore it. I never thought that I would be an ASTRONAUT.

Pushing off the sink in irritation, I turn to leave but he grabs my bare upper arm. My blood boils in annoyance while my skin tingles with excitement. He perks a brow, obviously sensing it. "Your aura is in disarray," he states bleakly. "Yeah, no shit Sherlock." My Earthly phrase earns me a tilt of his head and I scoff. "Where have you been, Beta?" "On a mission in the Xin Galaxy." "Okay? Would it not be wise to inform your OA of any missions that require your departure? Let go." I pull against his grip and he reluctantly lets go. "Yes, however, this mission did not require your presence nor your opinion," he replies candidly. My eye twitches and wordlessly, I turn away once more but his grip on my arm returns, this time more gentle, as if pleading rather than restraining. "I only meant that this mission did not require you to accompany me as my OA in pretence. It's safer to stay with your younglings out of sight anytime the role is not needed," his voice softer. "You disappeared after you..." I pause and shake my head. I feel embarrassed to say it out loud to him. I feel embarrassed at how much it affected me. I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. These models are the best of the best, at everything. Their muscle flexibility is 93% of ours, effectively eliminating non-realistic movement. They have software controlling their vocal output so that what they say always makes perfect sense, even in pronunciation. Everyone agrees on one thing: If they had a heart, they'd be just about human. And that's just it. Somewhere out there, the original prototype is running about, disguising himself as a normal gen3 RCA, when in reality, he's the only non-organic thing on earth to have emotion, and thought. The other RCAS are programmed to identify him as an immediate danger to the public. So he's always moving around. Looking for the finish to his one computer-made script, aptly called 'fate'. He will find it, and it must be complete.Complete

Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey. And everything was going smoothly until I unexpectedly woke up on a new planet, one with an ethereal glow and an eerie resemblance to our old home as the commander of the military space force, my father tasked his men with exploring this new world. But what they discovered was far from welcoming. This new planet was already inhabited by terrifying creatures, and they were not happy with our presence. His men fought to survive against these beasts, I couldn't help but wonder why they were so hostile towards us. That's when one of them approached me, defying everything we had been warned about. Instead of attacking, it watched me pick flowers before later saving me from a fiery blast. Now it's my turn to save him. Please read the prologue in the beginning before going to Chapter 1.
