Project description The aim of this essay is to provoke conversation and thoughts about what it means to live in the Borderlands, about language and identity. The keywords are movement, translation (and language), ethnicity/race and narration. My main literary sources are Borderlands- La frontrera(Gloria Ansaldúa), Drown (Junot Díaz), and Everything begins & ends at the Kentucky Club (Benjamin Alire Sáenz). To discuss these texts and to support my arguments I have used the following theoretical sources: Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o: Globalectics, Jill Lepore: Just the facts, Ma'am, Andrew Thacker: The idea of a critical literary geography, and Alberto Rio: Translating translation.
