Hi. I'm Lauryn. I've always been quite antisocial, but my parents are wildly not so. All I want to do this summer is internet, film and read. My parents, however, have a VERY different idea about what FUN is and have signed me up for SOOOOOO many events without my permission. I have to socialise and I have hardly any freetime left and I have to socialise and I can't internet. I can't internet. I can't internet!!!!!!!! To try and help me get through this, I'm going to make this a social experiment. Annoyingly, my mum took my camera away to be 'fixed'-really I know she just wants me to get away from the thing. Yep. So that's what this is, my 'record' book where I will be keeping track of everything that happens during my 'EXCITING' summer while it is happening. Also, it gets me out of at least some social situations so, who wouldn't want to try this? Anyway, if anyone ever does find this, go ahead and read, it's not like my awkwardness is a secret and you know what, I don't mind if you discover all my embarrassingly traumatising moments, you will probably laugh and making people do that is a good thing. Right?

Mother Knows Best
You know how you trauma-dump on your friends and they say, "Omg, that's insane, you should write a book about it!" Well, more people have made that remark to my mother as she exaggerates all her stories, so I took the liberty of taking that advice for myself. I am a writer, after all, and I tend to write out my feelings and trauma to work through it on my own, just to delete it later. But why not make some of those memories that haunt me so much into story form? It's definitely more entertaining. So, you'll find my entire life story, or at least what I remember, here in this book on Wattpad. Each chapter is a real event that occurred in my life, mostly involving my emotionally abusive mother, nearly absent and aggressive father, my runaway older sister, and even a little boy we fostered for a moment. If you're interested or possibly are going through something similar, please read and know that there is hope. I made it out and I am on my healing journey, it is possible.

My life used to be pretty boring. Everything was average. Normal family, normal looks, normal house, normal job, normal life. The only non-boring aspect of my life was my best friend which was only because she always managed to mess it up somehow. I didn't really mind much because it kept things interesting. I despise socializing with a passion. It's a fact: I'm terrible at it. Like the useless person I am with everything else except for academics.
