I'm not like the other kids. The other kids, with their pale gold hair and pale moon faces, or dark coffee skin and hair as black as night. I don't want to waste my life, being told to believe things because some adult said so. I don't want to be shunned because I look different. I don't want this. In this place everything is perfect. I am me. You are you. People have a nasty habit of labeling and judging others. It's an instinct that everyone has and we do it all the time, without realizing it sometimes. These labels do not define us. Those judgments do not blind us of our true self. We know deep down that we are different but some people hide that. Some people think the only way to fit in is to be someone else. Some people want to change for others. Some people think it's best to hide thief true self from those around them. Different- 1) Not the same as another, or each other; Unlike in nature, form or quality. I thought being different was a good thing. You know, the whole 'Im not conforming to you' deal. I thought I was unique, my own person. Apparently not everyone thinks being different is a good thing. They're afraid of my difference. Maybe it's my long white hair? Or my glowing silver eyes? Or it could just be because.... I'm not fully human. I tried to keep it a secret. Really I did. I knew the consequence of something like this getting out. So my secret stayed a secret.
