Keith Geb, a passionate investigator of Victory, SC, has a crisis with his life. The city is a small town and word travels fast. Keith is known as Smokey. Keith's work partner is Jeremy Kid. He has a huge resume and is known as the vicious winner. Jeremy's fiancé, Sheryl, shows up often to work to bring over lunch for everyone. Keith's boss, Chief, is stressed for not making the quota for the year. He is called by his given name, Joe, only by his mistress, Kendra Lorraine of California. The law enforcement is looking to hire someone who will bring new energy at the station to get the department out of their funk. Not to forget the town needs help too because it's ranked THE MOST WORST AND STAGNANT AREA. The over required and optimistic recipient is Jenna Dawson. She had moved to a bigger city called Kit, SC, and is looking for a job that would be interactive,and deal with serious situations that weren't her own problems. However, she won't ever admit her problems because she doesn't care for anyone's nonsense. Her toughest critic is herself. Chief loved what he heard about her from another station. He liked her so much that he wanted to hire her without an interview and without a background check. In the story you will see Keith figuring out what he wants his future to look like and who he wants in his life. You'll find out who has more self control and dignity?
