150 years... That's how long the war has been going on in Equilibria: between the United Federation of Tachyon, a technologically advanced empire, and the Arcane Order of Seirion, a powerful magical empire. This long and unending war of conquest and expansion has led to many suffering in this world, as those who were in between them were squashed underneath the feet of the marching force. Occasionally, some people in this world may obtain resolites, a mysterious white crystal capable of transforming into powerful melee weapons. Although its inner workings and reason for existence are unknown, those with resolites, also known as resolutors, were hunted down by the empires as a key to creating elite warriors enhanced with the power of resolites. One such resolutor was Lorian Ashwood, who had obtained a particularly powerful resolite after his home village, Tragula, was destroyed by a mysterious ray of light coming from the sky, destroying everything in its path, including the soldiers from both empires fighting to capture his village. Nobody, not even the powerful empires, knew who was behind it. Eager to know what happened, Lorian ended up joining an aviator group known as the Strife Striders, and together, they went on a journey across the two empires to seek the truth as they completed a task from the King of Machiaville. In their journey, Lorian got to see the world from different perspectives as he interacted with imperial locals, while fighting against the Imperial forces and authority, who were constantly seeking to capture him for the reason mentioned before. Eventually, his eye-opening and arduous journey would develop him into becoming a resolute and just person, known as a Concordian. __________________________________________ Concordian of the Two Ends is now available on both Wattpad and Royal Road! Esme had one big fear in life: being captured as a thief by the city's guardsmen and being executed for her crimes, and that so heavily weighed on her mind that she increased her risks by being distracted in the middle of a heist. That's when she runs into Althalos Fourthborn: Inner Circle Guardsman, one of the many princes of the realm, an Aelif (Dark Elf, local dialect)...and her betrothed by treaty. (That was something her almost human mind could not handle.) So she calls off the heist, gets demoted into a far more risky job, learns the true bitter depth of what this treaty's bond is like, and lands safely by her prince's side....sort of. There were people who still wanted to end her life, even if she was in what most people would call a Happily Ever After. That and her prince had his own living fears that were gnawing at any chance they had. That and she might just lose her mind from everyday boredom. But the one she couldn't wrap her all-too human mind around was that she would one day grow wings and fly away from her almost Happily Ever After to live in a hive with ancestors more alien than a hottie with pointed ears and abandonment issues. ~~~~ Yes, there are adult themes in this book, and difficult subjects, but nothing is excessive, as this is probably my simplest story. So, trigger warnings: A history of assault. Occasional vulgar language. References to partial cannibaliam. Extremely mild, light, and rare sex scenes. At least one elitist mentality. ~~~~ Ages of MC/ML: Esme: Apparent age of 24, roughly 20 years lived (mostly human). Althalos: Apparent age of 30, roughly 65 years lived (Elves mature slower).
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order "Hearts of the Inquisitors" Episode 1 by DCLGalloway
12 parts Complete
*Hearts of the Inquisitors, Episode 1, is the prequel to my original Hearts of the Inquisitors book, which acts as a companion piece to the game Jedi: Fallen Order* Set one year before the events of Fallen Order, the Empire is rising to it's prime, ruthlessly hunting down all remaining Jedi in hordes. At this time, Vader was already training four apprentices. But his most cunning student was a young, garish human named Cor Shan. A former apprentice Seeker for the Jedi and incredibly gifted with the Force, he was now a Seeker for the Empire. Vader utilized his unique ability to track Jedi in his mind as if it were his own, sending Shan to lead almost every crucial mission the Empire had involving high-profile Jedi. This resulted in the immediate captures and deaths of countless knights across a very short time period. However, one task continuously eluded the Dark Lords: eliminating a brand new syndicate which now stands as a threat to the Empire. With a recent devastating attack on the Empire, Vader had learned of a new shadow organization known as the "Black Gora," a very robust cult created by an alliance between the Black Sun and the remnants of the Bando Gora, a Force-worshiping cult formally lead by High Priestess Komari Vosa in the final years of the Galactic Republic. As Sidious had informed Dooku long ago, the Bando Gora were a threat to his will which needed to be eliminated. Although Vosa is dead, her vision is not, and now it has been set lose again to infringe upon the Empire. As our tale begins, his new apprentice Cor Shan and the Second Sister are both sent for to solve this problem. The Second Sister for her deadly skills, Shan for his sharp mind, and both for their high intelligence. As emotions grow strong between them, can they stop this syndicate in time?
Book 1 - The Mirage Wager (Gildersmoke - The First and Last Blade) by klondike609
1 part Ongoing Mature
Gildersmoke is more than a city-it is a machine, grinding forward on gears of ambition, industry, and blood. Floating above it, Aethercrest's elite rule from their skyborne towers, while deep below, the Rust Docks and the Gutter fester with the discarded, the rebellious, and the forgotten. In the heart of it all lies The Ebon Mirage, a sanctuary of vice, power, and deception-where fortunes are won, secrets are gambled, and history is rewritten in shadows. But something ancient has stirred. When Nora Blackwood and Cass Dreymore take control of The Ebon Mirage, they find themselves entangled in a deadly game of power and prophecy. The discovery of the Eidolon Shard-a relic of impossible energy-turns Gildersmoke into a battlefield. Every faction, from the Ashgilt Syndicate's debt lords to House Valtieri's machine-masters, seeks to claim it. The Veilwardens whisper of the danger it poses, while rogue scholars speak of lost knowledge hidden in the city's depths. Yet, Gildersmoke is not the only player in this war. Across the world, great cities awaken to the storm brewing in Aethercrest. Varkhala, The Merchant-Kings' Jewel, where assassins wield weapons that never miss. Cauldrith, The City of Aetheric Glass, where time itself bends and knowledge comes at the cost of identity. Ironmere, The Titan's Anvil, where sentient machines whisper in the dark. Selvaris, The Blooming Labyrinth, where magitech and nature have merged into something... unnatural. Ebonreach, The City Beneath the Tides, where a relic capable of erasing history itself has resurfaced.
