Charlie is grief-stricken when her mother dies of a sudden aneurysm. Because of this, she has to pick up her life in San Francisco and move to a small town in Northwest Washington. After moving, She meets Nate Tabor, the town's infamous bad boy. After much thought however, Charlie believes the best way to live her life is by living it on the edge and being with the notorious bad boy. Will this decision leave Charlie finally being happy or will Charlie realize that living on the edge only leads to falling?
