Trolls had adapted to human society years ago. When their whole society had pretty much collapsed into war, they took the last mother grub and the last trolls alive and fled to the nearest planet of sentient beings possible, as their planet was a raging inferno of fire and radiation. Karkat was nine and a half sweeps old, nineteen human years. He had an apartment close to his college, which was a fairly okay walking distance from his job as a cashier at a shitty retail store. Grubmart. Ugh. Struggling to make ends meet, the troll puts out an add for a roommate, but he soon becomes something far more than just a roommate. They meet each others friends, share stories, even go on a date once or twice. But, what happens when tragedy strikes?
