Chris wanted to grow old with her, to have a family. To watch their child grow up, to see his eyes open for the first time and hear his first cries as he was welcomed into this world. To hold him for the first time and look at the beautiful baby they had created, to cradle him to his chest for the first time. To see his first smile, to hear his first laugh. Chris wanted to play with him, talk to him and hold his hand as he learned to walk, to catch him when he fell. Chris wanted to be there when he grew up into a young child, when he went to school for the first time, and when he came home, excitedly babbling about the new things he learned and the great friends he made. Chris couldn't wait until he could run around with him, play catch with him in their backyard, to take out an old fashioned board game and roll the dice one last time before he grew into a teenager and wanted nothing more than to stay away from his parents. Chris wanted to be there when their wonderful child was a freshman in high school, when he developed his first crush and he came home feeling like he was on top of the world. Chris wanted to be his serenity when he experienced his first heartbreak, when he realizes how tough life can get at times. Chris wanted to be there when high school flew by, when he stood with hundreds of other kids as he walked up to the podium with a smile plastered on his face to retrieve his high school diploma. Chris wanted to be there when their child all too fast became an adult, when he bid a farewell as he departed to college, to continue his education. When he calls and tells his parents that he met a girl and how much he thinks that she's the one. When ten years later he's down on one knee and proposing to the girl he had called about ten years earlier. When they start a family of their own and the two of them became grandparents. He wanted to make memories with her, and he didn't want these memories to only be his, he wanted it to be theirs. All Rights Reserved
