There are ties binding everyone, even in a world of magic. Over time, they can get tangled, obscured that it's hard to see where they lead you.
These ties that bind can save you, or destroy you.
They can make a tyrant, who commands thousands of soldiers and warlocks, brings destruction in his wake.
They can make a mutineer, a man who's lost it all.
They can make a son, desperate to please.
They can make an orphan, one bent on revenge.
No matter what these ties turn you into, no matter how much you wish to, you cannot cut these ties. One simply has to live with them.

THE VILLAIN'S TEARS
Under an oath, humans and the abyss coexist in a lengthy, tranquil world of the seven kingdoms, where they are safe from harm. Throughout history there are many legends of those that have the power to perform feats that no one else can. Folklore tells us of those few special souls that perform feats that can only be explained as magical. In most of these fables there are tales of young men and/or women who find out that they have powers that they have little control or use of. Folktales tell us how they learn to control their powers. Legends also tell us of those few souls that have become teachers of magic. These dedicated individuals take our young people and train them in how to use these powers. Then there are those that have great powers that they use to dominate others. These are the villains of Legends. Monsters that want to inflect their will on all those weaker souls around them. This is such a story. Adica is a young girl that finds she has powers that she can not control. As she learns about her heritage, she finds that she is part of a family that has great powers that they wheel to their own benefit.
