Numb

Numb is my fourth novel, but first in a potential trilogy based around the women of Wickham County and my 2015 entry into the SYTYCW contest.

Lizzie Pearson has lived in Pale Bay her entire tragic life, through vicious bullying in her school years, the sudden death of her parents and then being forced to live with an abusive grandmother, but nothing could have hurt as much as the betrayal she endured at the hands of her own twin brother.

Lucas Pearson has done nothing short of protecting his twin sister--no matter what hand he had to deal to those who deserved it, but to be accused of the things his sister and her good-for-nothing behemoth of a boyfriend had was the ultimate in disrespect. Putting him behind bars was the icing on the cake, but nothing enraged him more than seeing Johnny Tanzer on the other side of those same bars with fury in his eyes and fear in his heart.

"Where's my sister?" Lucas growled looking behind the wide man.
"You tell me," Johnny seethed, wringing his hands around the cold steel bars as he would the man's neck if only they were not separated by the unyielding metal.

Johnny Tanzer is a passionate man and a fierce protector. One who is determined to get to the bottom of the disturbing events that have befallen his beloved Lizzie. Even if that means unearthing a twin brother's depravity.

When Lizzie disappears from under Johnny's nose, he is forced to work with the one man he would rather see six feet under in order to save the woman he loves.
