Harry wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder. "What's depression like?" He whispered carefully, afraid he might make me angry. I stared up at the ceiling and rested my hand on his. I bit my lip and hesitated for a moment before answering him. "It's like drowning, but you can still see everyone breathing." Lydia Brooks is an 18 year old senior who is depressed. She cuts her wrists and her thighs. She never speaks to anyone. And her parents work all the time. But one night when her mom finds her with the blade in her hands, she sends Lydia to a support group where she meets cocky and quirky Harry Styles. Harry Styles is a 19 year old man going to University to become a teacher. But Harry is also a cancer survivor, who likes to tell everyone about it. Harry attends the support group every Tuesday and Thursday to kind of help out with his mother, Anne, who runs the group. But when Lydia steps into the room, quiet and takes the seat farthest away from everyone, he finds a strange attraction to this girl. He tends to find out why she's in the group and what's her story. But, this isn't easy considering that she doesn't speak to anyone. But Harry is determined and as he gets closer and closer to Lydia she finds herself wondering if he'll end up like the others she's tried to trust over the years. Always leaving. Always lying. Always pulling her down deeper into the water.
