"Hey, wait for me! " I shouted, barreling down the grassy hillside. "Look at what I found in my attic! " A piece of stone, shimmering like ice, engulfed my tiny palms. A light red blush covered the bridge of my nose and apples of my cheeks as I lit up with excitement, aiming to share my discovery with my peers.
"What's that supposed to be?" Bertholdt fished for more information. The kid was more limb than just about anything else, which was apparent as he reached out in inquiry.
"No, don't touch! Momma won't sign me up for warrior training if I bring it home broken!"
