Emerald is an average girl. Right?

Or maybe not. Her new neighbor, James, insists she is an Earth, an Elemental. But Emerald doesn't believe in these things. At least, not until she's accepted at the Elemental Training School, ETS for short, and is thrown into a battle that wasn't meant to be and a mystery that shouldn't be there. It changes her life forever as she trains as an apprentice and makes fast friends that always have her back when she needs them. Right?

Kala had always thought of herself as normal, but when the world ended, cleansed by a power most would fail to understand, she realized she was far from normal. That day, Kala awoke in a fog surrounded by a nothingness that permeated every pore of her body. The only sounds she could hear were her own ragged breaths in the vast and empty darkness. When the light finally returned, she found herself utterly alone and suddenly part of a struggle much bigger than she'd ever thought possible. With that struggle came something else...power. Power to control the elements. Power the likes of which she had only seen in movies or read about in books. Despite her disbelief, it remained...right there in the palms of her hands. Eventually Kala learned to use her power as it was intended. As she wandered the new world, she met others like herself, other Servants with similar abilities who understood the reason for the destruction...for the loss. And then, six years after her world turned upside down, she met him. A handsome stranger in a tiny town in the middle of the West Virginia woods - not a Servant - not like her. And certainly not the type of man Kala had expected to find herself falling for. But the man she met there turned out to be more than just a hero in her time of need. At her side, he would become a protector, leader, confidant, and so much more. Together, they would find themselves fighting a growing evil...a man like Kala, who had been granted power beyond words or description. He might have been a good man once, but his fall was nearly complete. And now he desired only to rule - not to heal. This man would lead a small army against them, but they wouldn't have to fight alone. There was another, more powerful force on their side...one that could change the course of the war to come.

Each human now possesses one of the four elements of nature: fire, water, air, earth - earning the name Elemental. To learn how to control the element, they go through training academies, to among other things find their elemental partner. Here's where we meet Breeze, a Junior-Elemental controlling the element of air, still struggling with putting his right emotions when connecting to the element. Taunted by his older brother Rain, and his Elemental partner Ember, the insecurity within takes control of his element. That is until he meets the female and rebel-ish kind of Junior Elemental, Blaze. Achievements: - Best rank in Science Fiction: #70 (7/1-15)
