Chasing Paper Elephants

Shay West was born and raised in Africa. As a little girl she watched the elephants outside her window, admiring their long ivory tusks and eyes shining with intellegence. She dreamed of running free with them, but all seemed lost when she bore the bruises of an abusive mother. Everyday She would recieve a beating, everyday new scars to show her father. When Shay finally runs away, she heads for the savannas, there she meets an abandoned elephant calf. Shay's new life as a runaway begins with a strong bond with the biggest animal on land, the african elephant.
