For most people the concept of alien abduction is just an amusing story created or dreamed up by the delusional. For Eira, Michael, Garrett and their friends its not amusing, neither is it a dream. They wish it was all a nightmare. More than six months of their lives are stolen from them by they time they return to their homes, and the after effects still haunt them. But they are moving on with their lives, or at least trying to. That's kind of hard though when you can suddenly hear people's inner most thoughts, eyes that glow in the dark, and mood swings that make Mr. Hyde look like an upstanding citizen. They were getting by, limping along really, when the unthinkable happened. Earth is invaded, and these shattered individuals have to put all their broken pieces together if anyone is to make it out alive.Todos os Direitos Reservados

I decided to move away and to try and find an exit but I didn't even take one step back when I heard his voice. "Princess? Is that you?" I saw him raise his head before shooting his eyes onto me. The sudden gaze caused to heart to race while it froze my body as if I have turned into ice. I felt the fear engulf my body, eating me inside out. "You aren't scared of me... Are you?" he asked me, I sensed the envy in his voice. That mixed with his harsh tone caused a wave of goosebumps to course through my body. I wanted to begin by asking him where was I? Why was I here? Why was he here... I wanted to ask him, but I couldn't, the fear was just all too much for me. "Come on... Speak to me... Ask me..." he began. "Ask me 'why am I here' and all of that crap... Entertain me with your fear." I saw him slowly gripping a knife that was on the countertop, with his eyes still on mine. The sides of his mouth slowly began tilting upwards. All the bitterness and the cold, it was all so visible in his eyes. I looked at him in horror, noticing him as he took his first steps towards me. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.

'I was abducted by aliens' Pretty clique, boring and pretty common among internet hacks who thought lizardmen existed. Maybe they did, Lee didn't know. After the alien thing, anything could be real. 'I was abducted by aliens, returned, had a mental breakdown and ended up joining a mental health cult where I fell in love with a polygamist group of counsellors.' That had a bit more weight and interest to it. Add in 'I ran away but miss them' to the mix and Lee's life is summed up. Now the family has found him again and he's not quite inclined to avoid their pull back into the flock (As ever, I have about 10 chapters pre-written or else this would go in my drabble story)
