Some Things are Nightmares Disguised as Dreams

Lizzie Nickerson has most definitely had a roller coaster of a life. When she was five years old, she had both of her parents, good grades, and generally a happy life. She had thought that everything was perfect, and never wanted it to change. But it was all just a downward spiral from there. Her parents got divorced a year later, and she barely ever saw her dad anymore. Her mother worked at a hospital as a nurse, and never really spent much time with Lizzie anymore. Her older half- sister, Angelica, was always making fun and teasing her. She didn't think that her life could change this quickly. Whenever she did see her dad, she cherished it. Lizzie was a daddy's girl at heart. In two years, however, her dad was sent to jail for sexual harassment. You see, a close friend of his had a daughter that was sixteen. She had autism, and thought that she was madly in love with Christian, the dad. After three years of knowing him, she finally got him cornered and alone, so she forced him to toy with her. Ultimately, he was responsible for it all since he was the adult. The friend had dropped all charges because she had known of her daughter's "love" for Christian, but he still had to go to county prison for 10 years. Lizzie was devastated, as her only joy in life was taken away because of somebody else. She loathed Julia, the daughter, and held a grudge for many years. She and her dad were still close, and they got to talk on the phone often. She still loved her dad so much, and always ended the call with "I miss you so so badly.", and counted the days as they passed by. Her life would begin in the fourth grade, when she met her first true friends in nearly four years.
