Rebecca wakes up in WICKED facility when she should be dead. WICKED have killed her, and now they have brought her back. Somehow they have saved her, but only so she can play an important role in the Scorch Trials - the second phase of experiments.
Rebecca is replaced in the trials with an impossible mission full of lies and plans that will destroy friendships and tests the bonds of love - only to discover the world she remembers is dead. But WICKED have told her the consequences if she doesn't. They will hurt the people she loves, the people she needs to live. The only people she has left. There is no choice but to lie.
