Prologue: The Letter That day went like any other. I parked my mom's old Ford Escape in the driveway. I had just gotten off work, and it was my last day. Before I walked into the house, I grabbed the mail. A cool breeze whipped past me. I began to look through the mail, like routine and headed inside. There was a cream-colored envelope with big blocky letters saying "Arielle Lancaster." Which would be acceptable only if it wasn't from a place I've never heard of before. "Mount Haven"... might be a scam. Right? The lettering looks like something from the government. Curiosity washed over me, and I opened it. I walked inside to see my parents were gone. I shrugged it off and headed to my room. My eyes began to skim the letter. "To the next of kin of Leah Fletcher," The letter began. Who is that? My eyes jumped to the next thing to catch my eye. "You now fully own 1582 Everest Drive, Mount Haven, Maine. You will need to come and take care of this property." My eyes then jumped to the bottom of the letter. "If you have any questions, please contact me at 723-356-7891." I grabbed my phone. My body began to shake. "Hello?"I asked.

There's many things that are going to go through your head, most people would try to stop them, maybe even call police on them. Some might sit home and wait and see how it plays and then there's people like me, who decide to jump on in. At first everything seemed like it was going well, we got the money, police didn't find out, all looked well until Rio showed up. That sexy intimidating gang leader. People feared him and the things he could do, but not me. To me that was my safety.
