She had bright amber eyes, gorgeous curly hair, and she aspired to be a firefighter because she loved helping people. She wanted to save lives. Her favorite color was orange because she claimed that it was under appreciated, and she adored Autumn because of the vibrancy. She was obsessed with sunflowers, too. She was just a normal girl, just a normal kid." "So then what happened?" "I..don't know. Things just changed one day. She grew paranoid and quiet, her grades dropped, and she'd beg us to stay home. I'd just tell her to grow up, but I should've listened." "But you really don't have an idea of why?" "I wish that I did. Her eyes fluttered open slowly. Her vision blurry as she tried to look around. As she tried to focus someone appeared next to her. A smirk was across his face as he injected her with a needle. She felt the pinch and soon her eyelids become heavy. Then total blackness came over her. Meanwhile the man took the injection out of her arm and walked outside the room. He pushes a button to lock her in. "Get my niece," the man said to his co worker as he grabbed a chart in front of the girl's room. He read through the chart and looked up every few minutes to look at the girl who had just went back to sleep, forcefully. "Uncle?" The man turns around and a big smile appears on his face. "Ah, Y/N there you are," he pauses placing the clipboard down. "I got a case for you." Y/N tenses not wanting to have another case. Her uncle walks towards her wrapping his arm around the young girl's shoulder and bringing her to the glass. "This is her. Prologue: The Letter That day went like any other. I parked my mom's old Ford Escape in the driveway. I had just gotten off work, and it was my last day. Before I walked into the house, I grabbed the mail. A cool breeze whipped past me. I began to look through the mail, like routine and headed inside. There was a cream-colored envelope with big blocky letters saying "Arielle Lancaster." Which would be acceptable only if it wasn't from a place I've never heard of before. "Mount Haven"... might be a scam. Right? The lettering looks like something from the government. Curiosity washed over me, and I opened it. I walked inside to see my parents were gone. I shrugged it off and headed to my room. My eyes began to skim the letter. "To the next of kin of Leah Fletcher," The letter began. Who is that? My eyes jumped to the next thing to catch my eye. "You now fully own 1582 Everest Drive, Mount Haven, Maine. You will need to come and take care of this property." My eyes then jumped to the bottom of the letter.
