Her aura slammed into him, cold and merciless. "You think I'll stand here and watch you mate and breed her?" she hissed, every word a dagger. His throat bobbed. "She meant nothing." She laughed - sharp, broken, brutal. "Yeah? That's why you were fucking her in your office? Couldn't even hide the scent of your betrayal." "Ara, it was a mistake-" She stepped closer, eyes blazing. "Your mistakes come in episodes, Alpha. Season one, season two, season three. You don't make mistakes. You make choices." He swallowed hard. "I don't need her. I need you." "Lies," she spat. "Every damn sentence you breathe is a lie. I can't even look at you without feeling sick." He flinched like her words physically hit him. "That female behind you?" she pointed, not bothering to glance. "Perfect for you. Go mark her. Breed her. Hell, fuck her for all I care." Her voice cracked - but she kept going, blade steady even when bleeding. "I don't need you. Not anymore." His knees crashed to the floor. The mighty Alpha. On the ground. For her. "Ara... I'm sorry. I'm really fucking sorry." His voice broke like he finally understood what loss tasted like. She stared at him with a sad, devastating smile. "Isn't it too late for that, Mate?" It was a secret marriage-only his friend and his girlfriend knew about it. He signed first, then handed her the pen with a smile, but her heart raced as doubt and insecurity clouded her thoughts. Was this the right decision? What if his father found out about the marriage? Would his family accept an orphan and a maid like her as a daughter-in-law? What if, after fulfilling his desires, he grew tired of her and abandoned her? She had no one to stand up for her, no one to turn to if things went wrong. Despite her fears, her love for him was genuine. Slowly, she lifted her gaze to meet his, her insecurities weighing heavy on her heart. His friends clapped and congratulated the couple, each one signing as a witness on the papers. Now, legally, they were husband and wife. But to the outside world, she was nothing more than a maid in his house.

Do not forget." -Unknown Speaker I made him promise not to forget me. I made him promise to not let me go. I was fine with him letting me go now. But I don't think I could've handled being forgotten. Mostly because I wanted to make my mark on the world. To have my life mean something. So if he forgets then I must come back. I fear that if I don't my life would've been for nothing. And that all the time and energy I had put in each day would be for nothing. I'm afraid to fail. And the biggest failure of all is to be forgotten once you're gone. Disclaimer: This story contains no smut or sexual behavior whatsoever between both Mark and Jack. I'm sorry if you like and or enjoy that kind of stuff. I will always be extremely uncomfortable writing smut because I don't know how it works in stories and I respect Jack and Mark way too much to subject their characters in my story to those types of activities mostly because I know they are both uncomfortable with it.
