The first time it happened I was thirteen. I was on a school trip to Paris in my room with two of my friends, we’d just been told for the last time to be quiet and finally go to sleep when I felt it. It started first in my fingers, a tingly feeling that slowly spread to my elbows to shoulders until my whole body felt that it was vibrating.

Past

I was tiered of my life. I was never happy, and I hadn’t been for a long time. I just couldn’t get that night out of my mind. It haunted me in daytime, it haunted me at nighttime. And if I ever did get the memories out of my head, even if it was just for a moment, some idiot would have to come up and ask me about that night. So really I had no choice but to leave. I was only gone for a couple of weeks, but my life changed completely.
