It's been 3 years since Unova's first run-in with Team Plasma. The rouges that had resurfaced the previous year have been wiped out, leaving Unova at peace, hopefully once and for all. No word has been seen on the whereabouts of the long-lost ex-champion Hilbert, who is presumed dead. The anniversary of Nate, a 13 year old boy, becoming champion is approaching, and nothing could sour this time of celebration.
Until Hilbert turns up at the door of the league, wounded but very much alive.
