Whilst investigating the death of a local painter, a strict author called Mia Sparrow uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, leather bound book circulating throughout Michigan. As soon as anyone reads the book, he or she has exactly 7 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look mirrored. The marked few begin to turn transparent as their time disintegrates before their eyes.
Mia gets hold of the book, refusing to believe the superstition. As she reads a collage of images flash into her mind: an icy sword balancing on a beautiful pedestal, an old newspaper headline about a car accident, a hooded figure ranting about demons and a drinking well located in a dark place.
When Mia notices her legs having ghost-like properties, she realizes that the curse of the leather bound book is true and calls in her best friend, a doctor called Cyrene Lazur, to help.
Cyrene examines the book and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before her eyes. She finds the icy sword balancing on a beautiful pedestal particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Mia and Cyrene pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded figure. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
