Ophelia Grayson is always complemented on her open-mindedness. She doesn't judge a person before getting to know them, she isn't afraid to try restaurants that aren't on the radar, and she tends to find herself always in a runt with guys who turn out to be duds that she thought she can give them a chance. Through everything she has always been optimistic.

Colin James had it with life-with everything. After suffering a server injury on a job, his leg couldn't be saved. Now an amputee, all he wants to do is sit at home and wallow in his sorrows-worrying he won't return to the firehouse, that all people see when they look at his is a one legged man, and how once he gets a prosthetic leg that's a whole other job in itself.

When Colin's mom hires Ophelia to help take care of Colin when she isn't home, personalities will clash. Ophelia wants to help, but Colin is too stubborn. These two will learn to accept one another. Both are hardheaded and determined to get their way.
