Maggie has a problem. She is only 13 years old and in the 9th grade. She was born in The Gambia and a born muslim. Since her parents were able to give her advanced classes, she was able to attend a school in America at a young age. At first, Maggie was excited that she would be the first out of her family to continue her education in America. But as a few weeks pass by, she really sees how going to an english, America school can be very difficult. Seeing that there is a big age gap and a difference in the way she talks amd looks, she has a hard time making friends with both teachers and students. (Did I forget to mention that Maggie has an outspoken personality? This also contributes to the factors of why no one befriends her). When a new boy from China comes along and so happens to be the same age as Maggie, they hit it off with a spark. But when the cheerleaders come out to play with him, Maggie is bound to get scratched. Can Maggie try to keep her life in balance or will the pressure of high school drive her over the edge? Who said growing up was easy? (A/N Not me...)
