Until someone decided to take Alyss away from Will. Now Will has to save her, Halt has to keep his mouth shut about Catherine being Will's supposedly late wife and Alyss has to postpone the fact that she has to die by the same thing that was supposed to take her. Fire. Will Halt and Will be able to save Alyss in time? Will Halt be able to keep his mouth shut until Alyss tells Will? These questions will be answered as you read. Warning: If you have not read the Ranger's Apprentice series, that means ALL twelve books, then do not read. The prologue begins with a spoiler. Enjoy!
