Arden and Nanook Lachowski's parents owed a long dated debt to a tribe of natives living on a reserve near their home, a small collection of them being delinquents and scourges of the law. After their mysterious passing, their debt was passed on to their two sons. Instead of attending college, Nanook is trapped in a double life; caring for his younger brother who still needs to get through school, and doing dirty work for the natives. Meanwhile, Arden struggles to cope with the constant danger of the natives, and distracts himself by befriending as many people as possible. The last person on his list is Angie Arlington, a self-isolated enigma addicted to sword fighting and hating the world. The only person Angie would ever be comfortable talking to is Leilani Misora, an adorable sweetie with a big heart and desire to make the people around her happy. His fierce determination to get Angie to open up gets him into a lot of trouble, but little does he know, it's also an opportunity for him and his brother to finally be freed from their debts.
