Creatures of the Night

People always say that things happen for a reason. Sure, it makes people feel better when something bad happens, like when they lose their wallet on the train or when they get into a minor car accident, or even when they go all out to impress someone for an interview and then they end up not getting the job. But for me, "things happen for a reason" isn't an explanation for what's going on in my life.

I'm Jolie Parrish. I moved to Beacon Hills and enrolled in Beacon Hills High for the second semester of my sophomore year after my parents were killed in a "robbery" of our home. At least, that's what the police called it, but I know the truth. But living with my brother, Jordan Parrish, wasn't that easy. See unlike my brother and my parents, who are hellhounds, I'm a werepanther. Long story. I thought that moving to Beacon Hills would give me a fresh start. Technically, I was right, but it wasn't the fresh start I was expecting.

Most people think that having supernatural powers means a great responsibility and the glory of a million adoring fans. Well here's some news... I'm not Supergirl. I never wanted to be. I just wanted to get out, to go somewhere I could finally feel safe in my own skin. I never wanted to be what I am. It wasn't all bad though. At least I got to meet Liam Dunbar along the way...
