The Warlock's Chair.

A place of magic and adventure.

Long ago when the world was young the Faerie races ruled far and wide across the lands of the Earth.

But they had not been the only races to inhabit the Earth. For in the dark places deep beneath its surface, star-spanning demon creatures awoke from their age-old sleep.

They brought with them ancient star crossed magics and sciences that had been born in the cold and darkness between the galaxies. They used them to build an empire. A massive underground city called the Crypt. Slowly their numbers grew, they became stronger.

Then they turned their eyes towards the surface world.

Soon they came into conflict with the Elves and a war raged. It proved long and costly for both sides. But gradually the Elves pushed back the demon creatures. Back to the Crypt. Where they sealed them away with chains of magical energy.

Over time they were forgotten, consigned to the Elven histories. But the demons did not forget. Deep in their underground lair, they seethed and raged, awaiting a time when they could escape their imprisonment.

❅| "Even a vastness can no longer shelter you... or engulf your dream." ⊱⋅ ──────────── ⋅⊰ [UNDER EDITING/REDRAFTING - latest chapter: 8] To a world seemingly shrouded in a cloak of safety and eternal peace, death is an unimaginable concept. Yet for those whose rule of life was mere survival, perhaps that's a different situation. For those who stood in the face of adversity, for those who refused to give in to the castigation of their lives, life has no sweetness to it. Merely the bitter tang of a blood-chilling revenge. To avenge a loved one or perhaps even their own pain, the murderous intent behind their deceitful eyes is unmistakable. For to them, lamenting about the past is a life lost to the cruel hands of fate. What happens when a woman as brilliant as the morning sun provides a haven in one's dreams? What happens when she, despite the agonies life carried, says to abandon everything right here and now and leave? Alcestis did not need to be told twice. Seizing the chance to escape the horrible clutches of her grandparents, she sets out on a journey to find the Elementals - a band of heroes protecting the human realm from those that lied beyond, headed by her parents. She knew of the darkness that festered within her; she knew of the hatred that danced in her heart. More than anything, she knew the extents of how fragmented her soul was. What, perhaps, would unfold when she sets out on her journey, leaving behind the world she knew; leaving behind what hopefulness remained in her battered heart? None would heed her an answer, indeed. None save for the rage that tainted her being.

When a darkness spreads across Mirkwood, a mighty elven kingdom is robbed from its bliss. A once vibrant people hides behind the walls of their kingdom and the forest grew into a bleak and uneasy place. The other realms suspected Thranduil of being embittered by Saurons return, the growing darkening of his kingdom and the domination of Shelob's children beneath the canopy of his forest. Nothing could've been further from the truth. There was another reason why Thranduil grew bitter and isolated. A reason no one dared to speak about. And as people stopped talking about it, memories faded, got twisted and turned, until dozens of versions left people confused. They had forgotten Thranduils love for life, for his kingdom. The memories fell into extinction and people no longer remembered. Except for Thranduil. This is the story of Thranduil and the memories he hid in the depths of his soul. A pain that has wrenched his heart. A pain that can best be described as; 'agony.'
