"So what's up?"

"I wanted to talk about that night."

"Which night?" I asked. I was gonna play dumb.

He sighed, "you know which night."

"I don't recall, maybe you should remind me."

His eyes darkened as he stared at me. "Oh?" His voice deep and raw. I smirked as I walked up to him and kept going, right past him. I was hoping he would follow.

I was not disappointed when I turned around to see Justin in my doorway.

Katiya Carpenter was born and raised in a perfectly small beach town. She spent her summers with the well-off "summer kids" and her best friends, she worked at the diner, and was top of her class. Life was good, until it wasn't. Eventually, Kate finds herself cheated on and unsure of her future. Until the Michaels move into town for the summer. And it might just happen that Jackson Michaels is exactly what she needs. ----------- I turned back to my friends, my eyes instantly running into Jack's. He was standing in front of the bleachers with Hendricks and a few other guys, talking to Genny. Jack was staring at me, as soon as I turned he flipped his head the other way. But it was too late. "Jack, right?" I said, smiling and getting his attention. "Yeah. You're Katiya, Kate." He gave me a dazzling smile. It made me smile back at him. "I mean, most people just pick one of the options, not both." He chuckled a little and took a step towards me. "Both is good. Who are you here to see?" He asked, looking around, and past me. "Nobody in particular." I seemed to say easily, even though I was in fact, here to watch Jason and my dad. "I mean, everyone. I know a lot of people. Small town." I tried to correct myself immediately, and I noticed Hannah holding back laughter as I stumbled on my words. "Gotcha." He said, still smiling wide and taking a glance back at the field. "Good to see you again, Katiya Kate." This time he said it as if it were one word. It made me smile on the inside. He turned and jogged back towards his team. I was such an idiot.

"Hey, babe." I rolled my eyes and ignored Jace. "Giving me the cold shoulder i see." I just kept ignoring him. Out of the corner of my eye I could see tanner staring at me. I really want to talk to him about his problem. I hate seeing him like this. "Come on stop the silence treatment, or you're gonna regret it." Fine. You wanna play this game? Lets play. "Oh fine, you got me." I smiled at him and he smiled back. "I know you couldn't keep away." Okay know hes getting really cocky. "Oh really?" I was challenging him. "Yup..." he whispered leaning in to me. I leaned in to, till i backed up back into my space letting him fall out of his chair on the floor. I smirked as everyone started laughing. He quickly got up and sat in his chair and glared at me. I leaned close to him, close enough so he could hear me calmly say "Don't you DARE underestimate me" I put emphasis on dare and backed back into my personal space once again. That's when the teacher entered. There are some things I should warn you of... This story does have: Mention of rape. Bad parental guidance. Cursing. Teen Fiction. Depression big time. Some more things... Please do not read if you have any of these triggers. Thank you.
