"What sucks?"
"The fact that I can't get you to love me." Chris leans his body forward on the wheel, and I notice the tears dropping on the dashboard. "I won't ever be Nathan."
"I don't want you to be Nathan! I want you to be Chris!"
"Don't lie to me, Bambi!" He shouts and snaps his head to me. "God, you are tortured by your own past and you know you are! And you know that you can set yourself free at any time. But you choose not to." His voice is broken now. "Because you are still in love with him."
"Chris. Listen to me. Chris!" I unbuckle my belt and sit closer to him, taking one of his hands. "I do not love Nathan anymore."
"Why can't you tell the truth?" He shakes his hand from mine, and fresh tears fill those soft brown eyes I've come to adore.
"I am telling the truth! You need to trust me!"
"Why should I?"
"Because I trusted you, remember?" Both of our breathing gets heavy. "And you need to trust me when I tell you that I am irrevocably, uncontrollably, unabashedly in love with you, Christopher Pratt. Always have been, always will be."
