Ryle Green is 17 years old and popularly known as Ataraxia; the second best player worldwide, on the famous online game. Nerve. Where throughout the mythical realm that is Requiem players build and join guilds and capture and defend forts from other attacking guilds, raking up player kills and gaining in game money to upgrade their weapons and armour.

Ryle has been second on the worldwide leader-board for years underneath player III, an anonymous mute that speaks to none, not even his guild mates.

In real life, away from Nerve, Ryle is known as the skinny quiet loser that rarely comes to school-since he's always playing video games- and is constantly harassed because of it.

But what happens when one day all of Nerves in real life identities are posted online? Will Ryle finally get to talk to III? Or will he discover a new interest in something other than Nerve?
