I take his hand, and swallow my emotions, "Listen, whatever happens, we go through it together. You and me."
His eyes look glossy in the light from the window, the tears reflecting off of his red cheeks.
"Really?" He asks, a hint of hope in his voice.
I smirk, ready to recite what he had said to me on that first day, "Cross my heart and hope to live."
