"What’s wrong?” I ask, curious as to why Calix seems to be acting this way.
“It’s just this girl…” he lingers. “I’ve known her for awhile now and I’ve always wanted to do this one thing...” he ends, sending his eyes to go forth to mine.
“Why don’t you do it then?” I ask quietly staring back into those brown eyes of his.
“Because I don’t know if she’ll like it?” I sigh and then entwine my hand with his; making the first move.
“She’ll like it.” I whisper to him gingerly. I sit still and wait for Calix’s response, but instead of him speaking his free hand moves up to my face and caresses it with every touch. I watch as he moves the little hair out of my eyes and behind my ear.
“Are you sure?” he asks keeping his hand lightly placed on my cheek. I nod and without another delay feel his lips pressed against mine in a passion that I swear could set the world on fire. It's then though, I realized that I was falling in love with my best friend. The one that has always been there for me and that in a way I have always loved; now it's just more clear. But there is a negative to this kiss, to this falling in love that I had spoken of. What would happen if Calix and I were split apart?
